The McIntosh DS200 Streaming DAC combines high-fidelity digital-to-analog conversion with extensive streaming capabilities, serving as an all-digital source for discerning audiophiles. Its Quad Balanced, 8-channel, 32-bit DAC supports high-resolution PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz, DSD512, and DXD, ensuring pristine audio.

For streaming, the DS200 offers Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and is Roon Ready. Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD provides high-quality wireless audio. Connectivity includes 7 digital inputs (USB, Coax, Optical, AES/EBU, MCT, HDMI ARC), but notably no analog inputs. It outputs via balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, with fixed or variable level options. Housed in McIntosh’s signature black glass chassis with illuminated logo, the DS200 delivers exceptional clarity and dynamic range, ideal for integrating modern digital music into a premium audio system.

In addition to streaming, the DS200 features 8 digital audio inputs to connect audio components with digital audio outputs, such as a CD player or tuner. It supports high resolution digital audio playback, as its USB input supports native playback of up to DSD512 and DXD up to 384kHz, while the coax and optical inputs can decode digital music up to 24-bit/192kHz. With its HDMI (ARC) input, the DS200 is perfect for watching your favorite TV shows and movies with audio quality that TV speakers or soundbars just can’t provide.2 Popular multi-channel audio formats from Dolby and DTS will be expertly converted to two-channel audio for proper playback.

The DS200 has a pair of balanced and unbalanced analog outputs to connect it to your preamplifier or integrated amplifier. We offer both balanced cables and unbalanced cables to make these connections. It comes from the factory in fixed output mode, meaning the volume would be controlled by your preamplifier, integrated amplifier, or other component with volume control, but it does offer the option of setting its output to variable mode. Variable output mode allows the DS200 to be connected directly to a power amplifier in an audio system that only has digital audio sources, and the DS200 would control the volume.

The DS200 Streaming DAC is designed with timeless McIntosh aesthetics and high-quality materials, such as a black glass front faceplate, rotary control knobs, illuminated logo, and custom machined aluminum end caps. A Data IN port along with Power Control ports allow for seamless integration with other McIntosh components, while the RS232 Control port can be used in more advanced installations. A remote control is included.

2) The HDMI (ARC) input will only play audio from a compatible TV. It will not pass video to or from a TV, or play audio from any non-TV source. TV must have an HDMI (ARC) output.
